Foundation for Tomorrow (F4T) is a community focused and people centered charity working to improve the welfare of the Most Vulnerable (MVG) who make up 23% of the total population of Kenya. They are still among the most disadvantaged and marginalized group, experiencing discrimination at all levels of our society despite heightened campaigns to create public awareness in urban centers in Kenya. The situation is even worse in informal settlements/slums and remote rural parts of the country where a complex web of economic and social issues create barriers within the mainstream education system and socio-economic aspects of life.
READ MOREEstablishment of Therapy Clinics for Children with Special Needs: Through strategic partnerships with mission hospitals and using the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) approach, we have successfully established therapy clinics for children with special needs in three counties: Kajiado, Kiambu, and Nairobi. These clinics provide essential therapeutic services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychosocial support, to children with disabilities, enabling them to reach their full potential and participate more fully in their communities.
Expansion of Educational Opportunities: We have significantly expanded access to education for marginalized children and youth in urban slums and rural areas. Through our scholarship programs, educational sponsorships, and the construction of new school facilities, we have helped thousands of children enroll in school, stay in school, and complete their education. As a result, more young people are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to build better futures for themselves and their families.
Empowerment of Women and Youth: We have empowered women and youth to become agents of change in their communities through entrepreneurship training, microfinance programs, and skills development workshops. Many women and young people have started their own businesses, increased their household incomes, and gained greater financial independence as a result of our interventions. By supporting their economic empowerment, we are breaking the cycle of poverty and promoting gender equality.
Advocacy for Child Rights: We have been at the forefront of advocating for the rights of children in Kenya, raising awareness about issues such as child labor, child marriage, and access to education. Our advocacy efforts have led to policy changes and legislative reforms aimed at protecting children from exploitation and ensuring their access to quality education and healthcare. Through partnerships with government agencies, civil society organizations, and community leaders, we continue to champion the rights of children and hold duty-bearers accountable for their well-being.
Community-Led Development Initiatives: We have implemented numerous community-led development initiatives aimed at improving the overall well-being of communities in urban slums and rural areas. These initiatives include infrastructure improvements, water and sanitation projects, agricultural training programs, and environmental conservation efforts. By empowering communities to identify their own priorities and solutions, we are building resilience and fostering sustainable development from the ground up
Impact on Maternal and Child Health: Our healthcare interventions have had a significant impact on maternal and child health outcomes in the communities we serve. Through prenatal care services, immunization campaigns, maternal health education, and access to skilled birth attendants, we have helped reduce maternal and child mortality rates and improve overall health indicators. By strengthening healthcare systems and promoting preventive care practices, we are ensuring that women and children receive the care they need to thrive. These achievements are a testament to our commitment to promoting rights, visibility, and equality for the most vulnerable populations in Kenya. Moving forward, we remain dedicated to building on these successes and continuing to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
